ย My first child, lost his first tooth this past weekend! I almost feel like it’s as much of a milestone for me as for him. My baby is really growing up.
This tooth has been loose for about two months and he already has two more adult teeth coming up behind {not under}his front baby ones! To say that I was anxious for him to lose this tooth is almost an understatement.
So that he would have a place to put his tooth I made this tooth fairy bag from Purl Bee.
It’s a simple felt bag.
The tooth goes in the tooth pocket…
and the tooth fairy leaves the money in the bag.
In our case she leaves a nice shiny gold dollar, one for each tooth lost.

I used some jersey knit scraps for the ties, instead of yarn.
And the bag was complete.
ย Owen’s pretty psyched about his gold dollar,
which is good incentive for him to work on another tooth that’s already loose.
Hope you’re having a pretty exciting day! ๐

I just have to say that he has the most lovely vivid eyes and it's just about the most handsome little guy in the blogosphere! That's such a wonderful idea! I have a 6 year old brother (strange for a 24 year old mother, I know!) and I think I'll have to make one of these for him. The gold dollar makes it seem like pirates treasure of gold doubloons!
