Teacher Christmas Gifts

December 16, 2010 · Delia 22 Comments

I saw these teacher gift santizer bottles at the Idea Room and thought it would be perfect for my son’s Kindergarten teacher and aid.

I wanted to make the transparency insert more like subway art so I made up this template.

Feel free to use it if you like. It just might be a little more complicated than the free download Amy provides for you.

You have to save the image to your computer and then add the name above the dotted line in picasa or photoshop. Save the image and then insert as a picture in a Word document. Print on transparency paper. If you don’t want to buy a whole pack of transparencies you can print them at a print shop for a small fee. I was able to print mine for 40 cents and I still could have used more transparency space. Not bad.

You may be able to add it to Word and then add the name but I haven’t tried that.

We added some peppermint bark bars and we were all set.

Happy Holidays!

It's very original and also nice. I don't know if you know Tagxedo. But it's great to do that kind of tags. (Perhaps you have already use it)

Found you through Pinterest. I see you are interested in adoption. I’m an adoptive mom of 3, bio to 2. Lots of blessings but also trials. Your blog is amazing!

This is such a great gift idea – but I have a stupid question. How do you transfer what you print on the transparency film to the bottle? I am not very crafty – but I would love to try this.

K8t613 – not stupid at all. simple cut the transparency to size, roll it up and slip it into the neck of the bottle. use the pump to smooth it into place and you're all set!

How big of a photo do you use? I used my photo editing software (I use Storybook Creator from Creative Memories) and added in my teacher names, but don't know how big to print the transparencies or how big the insert should end up. Thanks!

Hmmm. I’m not sure. They are supposed to float in there. I suppose you could print them onto tracing paper instead and mod podge them to the outside of the bottle?

When I save the image and print it, it has orange lines through it. Is that the way it is suppose to be or am I doing something wrong please reply ASAP

oooh. no. It should not have orange lines through it. When you save it, do the orange lines show up on the computer screen or just when you print it? It may be an issue with your printer and transparency paper? It needs to be printed with a laser printer. I go to a print shop like Staples or Kinkos to do this.

I tried this with my ink jet printer and the letters dissolved in the hand sanitizer; oops! Will have to take it to Kinkos

I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my
own blog and was curious what all is needed to get setup?
I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny?
I’m not very web smart so I’m not 100% certain. Any recommendations or advice would be greatly
    appreciated. Thanks

You made some really good points there. I looked on the net for more info about the issue and
found most individuals will go along with your views on this website.

His is so good that I had to comment. I’m in most cases just a lurker, taking in know-how and nodding my head in quiet approval in the beneficial stuff…..this needed written props. Theory rocks…thanks.
