Say that title five times fast… 🙂
This week my goal is to get ready for Father’s Day.
To get us started, yesterday the boys and I made these cards:
With a nice neat accordion bow tie hot glued to the front.
And a fun scratch off message inside.
I got the idea here from Design Dazzle. She just mixed acrylic craft paint with some dish soap and painted it on clear contact paper to achieve this effect. She said you could use packing tape and wax paper too…so I tried it and it worked! It’s a pain to peel the wax paper backing off but we only made three cards so it was doable…and very affordable. 🙂
Here is my little scribe at work. He did such a good job and loved the “secret” messages he got to make for each card.
We added a popsicle stick to help our grandpas scratch the message away…and our cards were set to go.
As you can tell they don’t fit in envelopes very well, but if you’re sending them in a larger package like us, then it works.
Hope you’re having a spiffy day!

This is really fun. I made scratch off tickets like this for a baby shower I did once. They were such a big hit, but so easy!

Delia, those cards are sweet! Everything about them is perfect for Father's Day: the choice of papers, the accordion ties, the super-nifty scratch off messages. Too cool!

I love your blog! I love making things too. You are so awesome at it. Thanks for teaching me how to make these cards. I gave a simple version without the scratch offs for my hubby on Father's Day. Thanks again!
