Hey guys! Jess here, from Craftiness is not Optional, and I’m psyched to be here for Delia and Kirstin’s Color Your Summer series! It’s been fabulous so far, right? I decided to play around with a recipe this time, although popsicles hardly count as a recipe, as you’ll see…lol! It makes them perfect for the kids to help though! These pops are sweet, creamy, and totally how I remember orange creamsicles tasting!
Ingredients:
frozen orange juice concentrate, defrosted in the fridge
pudding mix (I used a cheesecake mix and it was DElish)
2 cups of milk
You’ll also need a popsicle mold and sticks, I used this one.
So this recipe is reeeallly hard. Not. First mix your pudding mix and 2 cups of milk together (this part is great for the kids to help with!), and make sure you do it in a bowl with a little spout for pouring, if you have one. That makes it much easier! So you can either layer it like I did, first a layer of pudding, then let that set up for about 10 minutes in the freezer, then a layer of OJ concentrate, let it set up, then some more pudding. (just put the sticks in before the bottom layer totally freezes up)
Or you could do just equal part of both, and let it all swirl and mix together! Yum. The flavor combinations could be so fun! Strawberry juice and cheesecake pudding would be delish, right? Or orange and chocolate…Anyways…put your sticks in and let it freeze away for a few hours, then run some hot water over the mold, pop them out, and enjoy! Don’t forget to lick the drips!
Have a colorful summer!
