You are beautiful. You know that?
With all your curves and rolls.
I know it’s easy to forget that.
It’s easy to focus on what we perceive as flaws.
We try to shape, mold, cover up, squeeze,
and even color ourselves into what we think is beautiful.
Now that can all be good fun, as long as we know, that underneath it all…we really are beautiful just as we are.
I hope my little Natalie will always know that.
Me and Nat, we chat often as we go about our day…when we play, while I work, when I’m dressing her. The question I most often ask her, is “How come you’re so beautiful?” Because she is.
Her beauty causes me to pause in awe…daily. I often can’t believe that I have the privilege of being her mother. Her smile radiates goodness and reminds me that we all started life as these little amazingly, beautiful human beings…and that we still are amazingly, beautiful human beings.
I know that we can’t all have gorgeous, baby soft skin like Natalie; but we can love and nourish the skin we’re in.
Dove has a great new Visible Care Body Wash program to help you do just that.
Now, I know I have been doing a few sponsored posts lately. I want you to know that I only do sponsored posts for companies I really believe in, or a product I am honestly enthused about.
And, I honestly love Dove products. The basic white Dove bar is the only thing I’ll use on my kids’ sensitive, eczema prone skin; and their deodorant is the only kind I use.
So when Dove sent me a product from their new Visible Care Body Wash program, I was excited to try it.
The Dove Renewing Body Wash is so creamy and soft on my skin. It has bumped my regular bar of soap routine up to a luxurious level. It feels like I’m treating myself without having to make any extra sacrifice of time, which is a big plus.
In addition to the Renewing Body Wash, Dove has two other body washes in it’s new line:
Dove Visible Care Toning Creme Body Wash and Softening Body Wash.

This post made me cry. I think we all want our daughters to grow up without the insecurities we face– but we forget that we were once daughters ourselves. Thanks, Delia!

I have great legs!

I really like my eyes… And I’ve even been complimented by total strangers on my eyebrows, of all things!!

What a wonderful post. Your daughter is beautiful! I love my freckles. I have a zillion of them! I especially like this lone freckle on the inside of my little finger 🙂

What a beautiful post…no pun intended. It is so hard to raise daughters to be confident in who they are. The world is not always an accepting or forgiving place. The most beautiful thing about me are my eyes. I also like my high cheekbones. 🙂
Jessica Oliveto says
Yes, yes! I really believe in teaching our daughters that they are beautiful! They need to feel secure and confident in their skin, and not rely on someone else to make them feel beautiful.
I have great hair, pretty eyes and a nice smile (thanks to braces)!

A lovely post…It might sound a little strange but I like my neck and collarbone area.

I have to admit I find my backside attractive. It is large and round and I love every inch of it!
Beauty comes in all shapes. I happen to embrace my curves.
Wonderfully written post. I think we all want our daughters to love themselves for who they are and see all that beauty that we see.

I'm going to go with my freckles. I think they make me look younger and remind me of having fun outside in the summer. Your baby is beautiful and I can't wait to meet my own baby girl in 4 days!!!

I have always appreciated my hair. Without goop, spray or applied heat, I love how after my hair gets wet, it begins to curl up and feels feathery-soft. The best is after playing in the rain. I love that my hair knows what's good! lol

Oh my goodness, these photos of Natalie are precious and you're so right – she is absolutely beautiful. I'm so glad that you will have so many amazing pictures to look back on with her over the years!!

I like my eye color (a dark greeny-hazel) and my legs, which even when I'm not as skinny as I'd like are still shapely. I also like my many moles, even though I have to watch them carefully! I think my favorite thing about my looks, though, is their youthfulness. At 25 I could pass for 15 on a no-makeup day. It used to irk me when I was younger, but I know I'm going to be grateful for
