I have been laboring pretty intensively over this project, tried five different prototypes…got close…but not quite. The sides are too high, the fabric still bunches in places I don’t want it to, and the person I intended for it to fit, well it just doesn’t. It was a good growing experience for me to say the least.
Have you had any projects like that? You worked on it so hard, over many weeks, and yet…it just didn’t work out?
Once I ditched my tweaking and try it again efforts I felt a ton better! Sometimes the shoe just doesn’t fit for now. Ya know?
Making up my own men’s loafer slipper pattern has eluded me…but I am not defeated. I do have something to show for Kojodesign’s gifts for guys series tomorrow. Head on over there tomorrow to find out!

That’s totally happened to me. Good to know it does to everyone I think:). It’s very frustrating after all the hours we spend, isn’t it? I think it looks great though, even if it doesn’t fit. You could display it in a glass case or something, ha ha ! I’m excited to see what you come up with for kojo!

Oh my gosh, you are amazing! The fact that you would even attempt those is mind blowing to me. And it is only by trying that you’ll get it right eventually. You rock, Ms. Creative. Are you guys going to be in AZ for Thanksgiving?

OMG! We are totally on the same wavelength….I tried to make loafer-style slippers for my toddler son this weekend…and now have about six left “shoes” laying around the sewing room, yet no real finished slippers that I’m happy with!

I have plenty of those projects! I think of it this way…..you have to pay your ‘tuition’ somewhere. Unless you have a teacher close that can walk you through everything to keep you from making mistakes, then you would make perfect projects with no mistakes. Yeah right!!! That never happens. I learn the most from my mistakes and look at it as an experience that wouldn’t be known, otherwise.

Happens to me all the time.
I’m just impressed that you even attempted this!
