On the very day Natalie was born, we received a package from Katy from No Big Dill.
My husband brought it to me in the hospital, at the same time he brought the boys to meet their new sister. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect.
Inside the beautifully wrapped package (Katy is a master of presentation), was this sweet little dress.
I’ve been dying to have her wear it everyday since, but my petite little Natalie has had to wait until now.
It’s absolutely perfect for her and I love it. Katy has my girl fashion aesthetic pinned down perfectly.
I love all the little details, which Katy is so good at. The crochet lace trim, the blue buttons.
It’s fully lined and beautifully made.
I was so touched to receive such a wonderful gift on the day of her birth.
Thank you Katy for your generosity.
To Katy, who is a sewing whiz, maybe it was…
No Big Dill. 🙂 But to us, it means quite a lot.
We received a dress, but I know it’s more than that. I see all the time, creativity and loved infused in every stitch. We will cherish this dress for generations!
Side note:
I’ve got TWO things.
One, I have been and will be doing more product review posts.
I don’t want to seem like a “sell out,” for lack of a better term. This blog has become an important part of supporting our family, which I count a great blessing. I love that I can do what I love, help our family, and still be at home with our kids.
I want you to know that I try to make sure I agree to reviewing products that I believe in and/or that my family enjoys already. I hope to maintain this blog as an inspiring place, by bringing some creativity to the review posts through my photography.
I hope you understand.
Two, Jenny from The Southern Institute is doing a wonderful fundraiser to help bring clean water to Africa.
Go here to learn more and to find out how to donate. It requires a small sacrifice, but if we all pitch in, we can make a very big difference.
Thank you for reading. I hope you had a great weekend!

Delia, first off– what a gorgeous dress that is! I'm always in awe of Katy's ability to use detailed lace and trim while still maintaining simplicity and clean lines in a garment. It's a tough line to walk!
Secondly, good for you about the sponsors and sponsored posts. What you write on your blog is valuable and hard work. I'm so glad that your family is able to

That is a lovely dress! And it is perfect for Natalie.
The only time I mind sponsored posts is when 6 different bloggers sponsor the same thing in the same day, and don't really say anything different from each other…. it's like reading the same post 6 times! With your beautiful photography added, that shouldn't be a problem. It's wonderful that you can make a little

Oh that Katy Dill, she is a wonder! What a special dress for your little gal, I'm sure that'll be one that SHE'LL pass on to her own daughter someday. Just beautiful.
And I agree with Charity – the only time sponsored posts bother me is when it seems that all of blogland is posting the exact same thing the same day. Other than that, I say GOOD FOR YOU and go get 'em,

So beautiful. What a sweet gift. And I love your petite darling. I have a petite one too. Maybe it’s something about number 3?

Katy is such a gem, and your little sweetie-pie looks precious in that dress.
I have been doing a lot more reviews and paid posts too. I hope that my readers don't feel that I'm selling out, because it is really such a help to have that extra income. I support you all the way! 🙂
And thank you thank you thank you for plugging my lemonade stand today! You are

There is absolutely nothing wrong with earning money for your family. It is not selling out. Are all marketing companies, artists that work for advertising companies "sell outs"? Or are they people with talent bringing new products to the attention of consumers?
As long as you are honest and not pushing items you know are unsafe, I think GOOD FOR YOU.

That dress is so precious! It looks absolutely adorable on beautiful little Natalie. As far as the product reviews are concerned, go for it! I love that your blog helps contribute to your family. I also love getting a trusted opinion on things that my kids will enjoy and also things I didn't know were available! Thanks Delia!
