Mary Janes and Galoshes has this really cool tutorial for these peony flowers that I wanted to try. It was really fun and quite easy. I didn’t stitch it together though. I just hot glued it to a felt circle.
Hobby Lobby has this satin poly blend for I think $2.99/yd. I just got an eighth of a yard so it was only 40 cents and I still have some leftover after making these flowers. Not bad. Not bad at all.
I also made a couple of rosettes and this is how:
Cut a long strip of the satin/poly and singe all sides with a lit candle like you would for the petals in MJ&G’s peony tutorial {I think this strip would make a nice -and cheap- ribbon too for another project}.
Cut a small felt circle in a similar color.
Hot glue the strip around the felt circle in a circular manner, folding and pleating it as you go.
When you get to the end, fold it in and under the folds.
Voila!
And this is how the peony looks up close. I really like the singed edges.
So pretty. Thanks again MJ&G for a great tutorial.

so cute! I do not like sewing stuff by hand, so this looks so doable! Thanks!
