Caraway Cardigan

Description

The Caraway Cardigan is a classic unisex knit cardigan for kids, that comes in three views or length options: hip, cropped, and tunic. There are also bonus instructions included for a maxi or duster length option. Add some charm with optional elbow patches or pockets. It’s a versatile pattern that lends well to color blocking and designing a look that is all your own!

Sizing: The size range is from children’s size 2T- 11/12 (see sizing chart in pictures).

Suggested Fabrics:

Bodice, Sleeves, Pockets, and View C Belt: Medium weight knit fabrics with at least 20% stretch. Sweater knit, interlock, French Terry, Ponte de Roma, and sweatshirt fleece is recommended.For View C and maxi length looks best sewn in fabrics with some drape.

Neckband, Hem band, and Cuffs: Ribbing or a stable knit fabric with at least 50% stretch. You may use knit fabric with less stretch for the arm band and hem band, like your bodice and sleeve fabric, with no changes to the pattern. You may also use a less stretchy fabric for your neckband, but you will need to add length so that it will fit the neck opening.

Elbow Patch: Leather, pleather, or high quality wool or wool blend felt.

Skill Level: Intermediate
